Rep. St. Germaine welcomes Ted Nugent to testify against DNR overreach
RELEASE|June 25, 2025

State Rep. Alicia St. Germaine (R-Harrison Township) today welcomed musician and Michigan outdoorsman Ted Nugent to the Michigan House of Representatives, where he testified before a joint committee on concerns regarding the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Nugent appeared before the House Committee on Natural Resources, the DNR Appropriations Subcommittee, and the Oversight on the Weaponization of State Government Subcommittee to share his perspective on what he described as repeated overreach by the department. His testimony focused on enforcement practices that have impacted small farms, wildlife rehabilitators, and private landowners across Michigan.

“It was great to have Ted Nugent share his frustrations with the DNR,” said St. Germaine. “The DNR and Natural resources Commission have weaponized their authorities, and as legislators, it’s our job to ensure that state departments are transparent, accountable, and treating Michigan residents fairly. It’s time we bring some common sense back into how these state agencies operate. I appreciate Ted’s willingness to speak up and shine a light on these serious issues.”
